“An omni-channel world needs a silo-free agency with global experience,” say executives at Greater Than One (GTO).

According to agency leaders, the Greater Than One Group creates transformative digital experiences that motivate people to achieve better health, wellness, and well being. “Working together in highly functioning, purpose-built global teams, we flatten traditional silos across media, marketing, technology, and product and service design in order to deliver integrated services that drive greater performance, accountability and transparency,” executives say.

GTO’s leaders say, “It is impossible for a brand to succeed in a world that is increasingly connected, transforming, and digitally enabled without a digitally native agency partner who can lead. If you know the difference between digital marketing and marketing in a digital world, then GTO is your agency.”

This year’s accomplishments

The agency lists many achievements for 2015. For Novartis, executives say GTO’s “Keep It Pumping” campaign “is taking social to the next level for pharma and reaching an astounding number of people around the world while gaining traction with patients and doctors on the topic, allowing Novartis to become the leader in heart failure awareness.”

In July, GTO was awarded a digitally led go-to-market strategy for the launch of Option Care, formerly known as Walgreens Infusion Services. Option Care is a new, independently owned company and one of the nation’s largest providers of home and alternate treatment site infusion services.

GTO won digital AOR and media for Zembrace SymTouch, an autoinjector for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults. Approved by the FDA in January 2016, Zembrace SymTouch is the newest addition to the neurology portfolio at Promius Pharma, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.

GTO also won enterprise digital AOR and enterprise media across a number of brands with Grifols, a global healthcare company based in Barcelona with U.S. offices in Raleigh, N.C. Grifols has been working in the fields of transfusion, blood banking, protein therapeutics, and laboratory analysis for more than 70 years.

Structure and services

According to executives, GTO’s five business units remove the silos across media, marketing, technology, and product and service design in order to deliver integrated services.

The group offers activation and engagement through GTO Media, a modern, integrated, performance-based media agency; AOR-level strategy, messaging, and creative by Greater Than One, a full-service branding and communications company;

product and service design by Adjacent to One, a digital product & service design consultancy; global philanthropy by Greater Good, a 501c3 organization that executives say is “dedicated to making a positive impact in the world around us”; and patient activation by EnVizit, a digital platform for motivating and supporting healthy behavior change.

Future plans

Executives say GTO is working on infrastructure in order to scale to accommodate growth and service clients better. The agency is looking to open offices in Raleigh-Durham and Basel as a way to add value to current and future clients.

Additionally, executives say GTO will be launching GTO Media as a separate business unit led by Amanda Powers. According to agency leaders, GTO Media creates brand connections that move people to achieve better health, wellness, and well being. “Only an experienced, independent and multidisciplinary media agency can inject the speed, agility and innovation necessary to succeed today,” executives say.

On the client front, GTO is planning a global launch for EnVizit, which is currently being used in the United States and the United Kingdom. “As 25 percent and 10 percent of the global market respectively, the EU5 and Japan are GTO’s next targets,” executives say. EnVizit embraces the long-known strategy of engage, adhere, and enable by “fast-forwarding” a patient through a virtual view of consequences, using IBM Watson to customize adherence messaging, and providing the tools and feedback to keep the patient adherent long-term.”

Philanthropy/citizenship

The Greater Good, the nonprofit subsidiary of the GTO Group, received its 501(c)(3) status, “which will grow our efforts to help provide sustainable and impactful programs for people around the globe,” executives say.

“The radicalization of youth, recent anti-Semitic attacks, continuing destruction of cultural heritage, and the rise of religious and racial intolerance leading to violence underscore the need to expand UNESCO’s education initiatives,” executives say. “As part of that expansion, The Greater Than One Group is working with the U.S. Mission to UNESCO to develop a digital platform that will disseminate groundbreaking educational resources and create new coalitions to prevent violent extremism.

“Working on both the global and local levels gives us a greater vision of what good stewardship of our planet means. That’s why we call it Greater Good.”
