Huntsworth Health Positions ApotheCom to Champion Scientific Innovation among Healthcare Professionals, Payers, and Industry to Improve Patient Outcomes

Creation of a Global Medical Communications Powerhouse with New Structure, Leadership and
Investment in Specialized Practice Areas and Technology

London, UK – 1 September 2015 – Huntsworth Health, the dedicated health division of Huntsworth
PLC, launches the new ApotheCom as a single, global powerhouse fuelled by the integration of the
medical communications and scientific services assets of the ApotheCom and ApotheCom
ScopeMedical teams worldwide. Huntsworth Health has invested in new global leadership, an
enhanced digital strategy and new service offerings in response to the growing client need for
strength and innovation in global medical affairs and enhanced engagement with professional
stakeholders across multiple channels. The new ApotheCom has offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco,
San Diego, Shanghai, Singapore, Auckland, Marlow and London. An office in Manhattan, NY will open
later in 2015.

Leading the new management team is Elaine Ferguson who was appointed as Global CEO earlier this
year. Elaine joined ApotheCom from inVentiv Health where she led the global medical communication
organization and had founded agencies such as Litmus MME. Elaine is joined by Leslie Taylor, Senior
Engagement Specialist, leading the convergence of technology and insight‐driven problem solving
across all medical communication services. Leslie has a strong heritage in digital healthcare strategy
including leadership roles in Digitas Health, Havas Health, and inVentiv Medical Communications. The
team has been further boosted in China, Japan and across AsiaPAC with the addition of Jon Ruddick
and Sarah Giles as Managing Directors, for Huntsworth Health. Jon and Sarah join Huntsworth from
inVentiv Health where they built an AsiaPAC presence and spent many years in integrating services
across market access, medical communications and public relations.

By bringing together medical communications talent within a single global powerhouse, ApotheCom is
uniquely able to create and deploy teams across many geographies, drawing on specialized skills and
specific market expertise. The new structure creates dedicated practice areas in Scientific
Communications and Publications, Medical Education and Access Pathways and Outcomes as well as
therapeutic areas of excellence across chronic diseases, oncology, and specialized medicine. The
matrix structure has been created to fuel innovation and support flexibility, with increased
specialization and focus on multi‐functional team working.

The highly experienced and talented global scientific team at the heart of the ApotheCom Medical
Communications Powerhouse is also the core of the entire Huntsworth Health group. Led by Beth
McMahon‐Wise, PhD, the new team comprises more than 50 PhDs and PharmDs and more than 130
content developers who understand how to tell the scientific, clinical and value stories to reach
specific audiences.

“Huntsworth Health has always been built on the foundation of strong science,” Neil Matheson Global
CEO, Huntsworth Health said. “By augmenting our scientific team under unified leadership and
strategy in ApotheCom, we have also strengthened the core of Huntsworth Health, providing scientific
and clinical medicine capabilities to all agencies as well as powering our medical communications
business for growth,” commented Matheson.

“The needs of our clients are changing and we require high levels of specialization at a significant scale
to address these needs on a global basis,” stated Ferguson. “We have totally transformed how we approach our medical communications business – taking away every barrier to being able to provide the best expertise in the right place and at the right time for our clients. Our new structure provides space for our talented team to grow, new leaders to join and the ability to flex and diversify in line with our client and market needs.”
