One of the real tragedies of Pharma downsizing is the closure of contract labs that do animal preclinical research. Last week a story ran in the Daily Record (see link below) about 30 beagles that were rescued by St. Hubert's Animal Shelter from an animal research facility that recently went out of business.
I fear that other animals may not fare so well.
