A shocking note from the defibrillator piece:
Dr. Roger D. White, who was on a heart association subcommittee that provided EXPERT ADVICE on automated defibrillators in 2000, put it: "We just assumed that we were going to make a difference." White, an anesthesiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., added, “What we thought would work, hasn't worked so far."
My observation would be 'so much for expert advice' - at least in this case - "Interviews and documents show that at least three people on the 11-member committee that recommended the in-hospital use of automated defibrillators had ties to device manufacturers"
In light of the above piece, I would suggest that the proprieters of Borden's Dairy Farm lock up Elsie the Cow on the next visitors tour.

Re: over-the-top use of psych. drugs in this country...just turn on afternoon TV, the women's shows, and you can see a big reason why.
What ever happened to the U.N. Convention on Psychotropics (of 1971), one of the articles of which states that there will be no direct-to-consumer advertising of psychotropic drugs?
Unfortunately the age group for ED meds is the same age group that tends towards polypharmacy. I suggest that they DC all of their other drugs save for their ED meds. They may not survive their sexual encounter, butg at leaat they'll check out on a positive note.
17.5 billion. That's the numbers of doses of psychotropic drugs (assume 1X/day) taken in the US in 2010 per the article.
Far out.
