I'd like also to note that the New York Times this morning has a long, thoughtful and compassionate story on the Merck Fosamax® ONJ or "jaw death" case -- Graves v. Merck -- now being tried to a jury in Manhattan's federal district courthouse. I've linked both sides' memos of law on the issues, at that one.

Mrs. Graves, an ex-US Army investigator, has now rested her case in chief; Merck is about to begin its defense of Fosamax, this morning.

So sorry to be so scarce, Ed -- been chasing some deal-work, of late -- less time to blog.

Namaste, one and all!

Oops! I should also mention that Merck (under cover of darkness!) has stealthily let it be known (in a PDF buried -- as of 11.01.2010 -- on a backwater page of its Investor Relations section of its site) that it will have no Hep A or Hep B vaccine-supplies for all of 2011, and maybe some of 2012:

"Recombivax® HB (Hepatitis B Vaccine, Recombinant) | Availability anticipated first half of 2012. . . .

Vaqta® (Hepatitis A Vaccine, Inactivated) | No availability anticipated in 2011. . . ."

Is this a sub-rosa withdrawal from those US markets?

I dunno. But "outages" going on three years -- even if they are cleared as indicated above -- is a very long time. It would seem that the complexities of vaccine production alone would not fully explain a nearly 36 month "outage".

Your kids have to go to school on Veterans day? Can I send mine your way? It's awfully hard to work today with kids running down the halls.
