Pharmalot... Pharmalittle... Good Morning

Top of the morning to you. Another busy lies ahead and our own stamina is tested by hustling short people off to the school house. Meanwhile, deadlines and meetings loom, yes? Still, we are reminded of what the Morning Mayor would say: Every brand new day should be unwrapped like a precious gift. So put on a smile and dig in. Have a good day, everyone...

OK. When are you going to post on your sale so we can comment?

How about what you expect the future to hold.

Will you still be with The Pink Sheet?

Will you be doing this or will someone else?

How do they expect to make money off of this?

Are there any protections of commenter's identities in the agreement?

It's impolite to ask certain things so I won't.

Also just so we can maybe tease you a little about selling out to the man.

I mean what about my secret identity.

Not that I'm claiming any super powers, but how many typing salmon do you know.

Hi Salmon,

Here's the link to the press release, which should answer some of your questions (this is the same release that PharmaGossip posted). For instance, I'm still the editor at Pharmalot...

To answer your other questions, no, I am no longer employed by Elsevier's Pink Sheet. I'm now with Canon, which publishes Med Ad News, among other titles. Both companies specialize in publishing titles and web sites about pharma matters. They are both legitimate publishers. The difference now, however, is that Canon owns Pharmalot, instead of me, as the release indicates. As to the business particulars, that's really between Canon and me. But if you notice, there has been advertising on this site since I relaunched it several months ago.

Meanwhile, the approach to privacy remains the same, as does the ongoing interest in fostering a community that wants to learn about and discuss issues of interest pertaining to the pharma world. There is nothing to be gained, for anyone involved, by diluting that mission or making it less hospitable for those who stop by and want to participate.

Moreover, I continue to function as a journalist - that's been my thing for many, many years - and the web site maintains value by continuing the mission that put it on the map in the first place.

If you're wondering why I didn't post the press release, I've always tried to avoid making myself the issue on this site. Yes, I sometimes join the conversations, but generally to clarify or answer a question, as I'm doing today.

I hope I've answered your questions and that you can continue to feel comfortable coming to the site. As always, I appreciate the input and discourse.
