In addition, a New Jersey rights group has filed a federal suit, overnight, challenging the process used in forcing medicine on psychiatric patients in New Jersey -- that state stands alone in its deference to hospital boards.

In fact, prisoners in New Jersey have a more meaningful right to refuse meds than patients in private hospitals. Appalling.

Interesting article on Telaprevir and Lilly.

I have mentioned before that I believe that based on the structures of these compounds that the idea for these drugs might have come from structure activity relationships of drug induced hepatotoxicity with Lilly's olanzapine (Zyprexa) and Schering-Plough's asenapine (Saphris).

Companies don't come up with ideas for new classes of compounds out of thin air. One method is they look at what compounds do and see if they can tweak it to get different effects at the same receptors.
