I worked for one of Searle's JV companies in the 1980's when Dr. Gilgore Searle. Back in more normal times we actually had a company picnic, and I had a chance to Meet "Shelly" as he was affectionately called. Very nice gentleman. Different kind of CEO than Don Rumsfeld, certaily more amiable, and a pretty good CEO as well. Sorry to learn of his passing.
