I think this would be a far more effective ad for ADHD drugs:

Seriously, an "international tribunal"? :-)

Key point about pharma, "...The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative insists that while broad standards require many medical patents and IP rules that would increase the price of medications, the U.S. intends to work with countries involved in the Trans-Pacific talks to ensure that the agreement does not restrict access to life-saving drugs...."

In light of recent posts here, may I observe that the Pharma Times item on 'youth friendly labeling' seems rather redundant - youth appear to be TOO FRIENDLY with the ADHD drugs already!
Jun 13, 2012 - 3:08pm
Regarding "youth-friendly" language for ADHD drugs, what's next....bedtime story picture books telling little children all about the sweet, smiley little bouncing atypical antipsychotics they are being given for the fake diagnosis of pediatric bipolar?
Jun 13, 2012 - 4:24pm
Producing pediatric psychiatric diagnoses is one of the sickest things in pharma of the last decades
Jun 13, 2012 - 5:05pm
I did a paper once that included info on prescribing anti-psychotics for 2 year olds who ostensibly were bi-polar. HOW THE HELL DID THEY KNOW THEY WERE BI-POLAR? They could barely talk yet. And you give teensy folks strong meds like that? This is a sick world.

@keiner - and any diagnosis can only be short-lived in that age group because of the rate of growth/change (steep learning curve) and what children are exposed to in their environment....so doing so is completely un-scientific because they have no method for measuring the changes and what is "normal" in relation to the speed of the changes!

Agree, the motives are questionable, at best. And it should stop until both methods and motives are examined - ie. how many angels are dancing on the head of that pin?

And did you all read the racist and disgusting response of Alec to ColorOfChange's publicity about Johnson and Johnson? Their attack AGAINST this perfectly decent organization describes their own behavior.

Please, please don't let Obama lose this election.

Betsy, think of it as training wheels for when they grow up to be full blown adult bipolars.
Jun 13, 2012 - 10:00pm
@Betsy - I did not read smart-Alec comment - was it to an article on this site?
Jun 14, 2012 - 6:59am
Hey Betsy, this big dude in the picture with his back facing the camera, if he is a convicted felon in in the state of Florida, thank God he and others of his kind will have been purged from the voting rolls by now by Gov Scott.

Remember I worked in Obama's home town (the non-Kenyan one), where the motto is "Vote Early and Vote Often". If he and "The Axe Man" (David Axelrod) can pull this off and find enough dead people to vote in enough cities then BHO mighy have a prayer.

@keiner - what is wrong with the parents is the first question..?
Jun 15, 2012 - 8:00am
Agree with dz. Kids really need to do a better job of choosing their parents.

The dweebs at Mass BCBS have met the first law of unintended consequences. They will review the need for more Percs after 30 days. During this time the addict will go into opiate withdrawal and require emergency room admission and turf to a detox unit to be give $2000/day care and an expensive Rx for suboxone.

These guys have outdone themselves on this one.
