Ed:

Since it is mid-week and stress is high, are you considering 'cutting back' on your favorite 'stimulation?'. I more than understand that an article like this one has no place in Pharmalittle - but "it does give one pause ..."

Well, at least it might - "please pass the milk?"

If New Jersey Governor Kramden wants to know why NJ is losing jobs to Indiana he should read this:

@oii - May I observe that you really should use your spellcheck? After all "Christie" doesn't begin with a "K ' it begins with ....um, never mind - please continue your comments about the esteemed governor of NJ. I assume the metaphor is that he wants to throw the state 'under the [campaign?] bus?'

(Or at least Democrats and liberals and ...)

Sure OII, it's perfectly appropriate that taxpayers should be held hostage by employers. Who has to make up the taxes that these special interest groups get out of paying? It's worked out real well in the PA Keystone Opportunity Zones where the state allowed them to steal the money without providing the promised jobs.

I like CC, but the piece below shows that when you compare Mitch Daniels' ability to keep jobs in Indiana vs CC's ability to keep them in NJ, one guy is playing in the big leagues and the other guy is playing in the league exemplified by his jersey:

Indiana has a population density of 182 people per square mile, while NJ's is 1189 people per square mile.

It's way past time to get back to managing the United States of America instead of building nutty state feifdoms, especially when it comes to the future of medical research (HUMAN SPECIES ISSUE).

Indiana also gets back more money from the Feds than the state sends to the Feds in taxes, while NJ gets less money than it sends. Lots of farm subsidy $$$ goes to Indiana, so good for them that the 4 H Clubs are producing enough animal husbandry doctors:

Dz Indiana also has a little bitty school called Purdue University, which, to use your analogy turns out more PhD's in the biomedical, engineering and pharmaceutical sciences per square mile to make the Indiana a magnet for the kind of jobs CC can only salivate at. Looking at the sorry ass state of NJ as an industrial magnet, if you are a high school junior in NJ and wish to work in the state your best advice is to apply to Hamburger University. You can apply online via the MacDonald's website.

DZ, Indiana has long qualified as the Lilly Mafia state. Its citizens are happy with Mitch Daniels as their governor, and don't bat an eye that he was at the helm (head of North American operations) during the time when Zyprexa was rolled out and marketed off-label...what the heck, what's good for business at Lilly is good for the state. Never mind that so many people have died from the drug.

Janet is correct. Here is a piece of exclusive waterfront shoreline in east Indianapolis that would be just a fishin pond without Lilly money. Insiders call it "Lilly Lake", better known to us commoners as Geist Reservoir. Can't touch a home for less than a cool million, and if you have a yacht it had best be no less than 30' if you wish not to be shown up by your waterfront neighbors. The enclave that Prozac built and Zyprexa maintained:

@oii - learning moment:

http://www.collegesinnewjersey.com/

You have got to be kidding me about the outlook for NJ students being McDonalds.

As soon as we drive a stake through the heart of The Wrecking Crew who stuck that pretend Gov. into this state like a stick in the spokes of a bicycle tire, N.J. IS where all future research will be born.

Placing my bet on it - all in.

LOL. No one is afraid of the Mob in NJ - the stunod wise-guys are outnumbered in every way that counts, especially brain power :-)

They're going to be asking US for the work...you'll see.

Oct 24, 2012 - 8:17pm
We will also have one less medical school when they close down that cesspool of corruption in Newark known as UMDNJ.
Oct 25, 2012 - 10:48am
@oii - ah, I see you are a supporter of "education policy" ala BIG STRONG OCCUPIER...still, a bone is a bone and bacteria are bacteria and people will teach each other in secret:

I'm only a supporter of good schools. When my uncle was premed at Rutgers in the 1960's the old "look to your left, look to your right" expression held true. Now they'll take any warm blooded homo sapiens with a pulse who can sign his/her name on a student loan application or who can bench press 300 lbs.
Oct 25, 2012 - 12:21pm
@oii - oh, I see, so it's not "corruption" that makes it not good, it's that they are enrolling "anybody with a pulse"...?

There is a HUGE shortage of medical practicioners if more aren't educated now.
