Pharmalot... Pharmalittle... Good Morning

Good morning, folks, and welcome to the middle of the week. This will be a busy day for us, however, since we were invited to attend the Forbes Health Summit which, of course, is an opportunity to meet some new faces and hear some new thoughts. FDA commish Margaret Hamburg will be among the speakers. And so, we will be Tweeting once we get settled. So our colleague, Mia Burns, will fill in for us most of the day. We will back tomorrow, though, as usual Meanwhile, here is the usual diet of tidbits. Hope your day goes well and stay in touch...

Good for Mr. Gros from Sanofi for speaking truth to power in saying pharma must publish original clinical trial results. Pharma, as it currently operates, is a "dirty" industry in this regard, and its practices have caused the practice of medicine to be tarnished as well. And, of course, the end result - patients getting sick and dying from its products when the dirty little negative findings of the trials are hidden - is a shameful and unacceptable practice which must stop.

Here's hoping governments, as well as private insurers, begin to insist on these data being revealed as the cost of doing business.
