Good morning, everyone, and how are you today? Cloudy skies are hoving over the Pharmalot corporate campus, but our spirits are not deterred. "while we hustle some short people to the local schoolhouse"
Thanks for the note and for pointing out what you found offensive. Truth to be told, I have been using that expression for years on this site to describe the mornings when I must scramble to deposit this or that child of mine to whichever school they attend.
Why short people, though? Because when I started this site, all of my children were shorter than me and it was one of my terms of endearment. The oldest is now taller than yours truly, but the label has stuck.
That said, I apologize if I offended you, but I'm not sure it's any different than if I had written that I'm racing to drop the kids off at school. Like so many others, I've been disturbed by the shooting in Connecticut, but I would ask that you please not read something into my usual morning note when it wasn't intended.

BTW, studies have shown that height increases your risk of being hit broadsie by a pigeon by 800%.
That is actually the origin of Ed's phrase, "hat tip."
