Pharmalot... Pharmalittle... Good Morning

Good morning, everyone, and how are you today? It's a cold and rainy morning here on the alternate Pharmalot campus as the holiday season continues, and our colleague Mia Burns continues to fill in on spot duty. We're still lurking in the background, so feel free to email us if something of note pops up. We're off to brew a cup of stimulation.

Blatant PR by PETA. They know there is a snowball's chance in Hades of Merck et al changing their animal testing policies.

Covance is a publically held company. It seems logical for PETA to go to their annual meeting, for if successful they could defunctionalize Covance's entire animal testing operation. But they know they would face an even greater drubbing on the shareholder vote as long as preclinical testing remains a cash cow for Covance. Early stage development raked in over $900 million in 2011, up 10% from 2010. Ain't nobody gonna vote to kill that cow.
