Principal/Co-Founder Larry Wolheim Retires from Giant

SAN FRANCISCO, JUNE 8, 2015–Giant Creative/Strategy, LLC, the largest full-service independent healthcare communications agency on the West Coast, announced that Larry Wolheim, principal and co-founder, has retired. Wolheim’s career in the industry spanned more than four decades.

Wolheim’s retirement comes after Steven Gold, principal, was named CEO.

 During his 13 years at Giant, Wolheim led business management and development. He also supervised the HR department as the agency grew from a San Francisco-based start-up to an award-winning trailblazer among healthcare agencies, with bi-coastal offices and a presence in Switzerland.

 “We started Giant in 2002 with just three partners. I’m now leaving a successful company that grew to over 200 talented professionals and that’s recognized as one of the best agencies in its sector,” Wolheim said. “I’m proud to have built a company that’s dedicated to doing great work for its clients while promoting the development of its employees.”

 In addition to Giant, Wolheim co-founded BioCore Communications (acquired by Lowe Healthcare in 1999) and the agency now known as FCB Healthcare. He had organizational management and business development responsibilities at both.
