A new era of leadership convenes for HBA’s annual Woman of the Year event in New York

By Nancy White

More than 1,300 healthcare executives and leaders convened in person in New York City for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’s (HBA) prestigious Woman of the Year awards, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. In addition to the attendees celebrating at the Marriott Marquis, nearly 1,200 people joined via a virtual platform.

2022 honorees included Woman of the Year, Dr. Beth Seidenberg, founding manager director, Westlake Village BioPartners; the Honorable Mentor, Chris Boerner, chief commercialization officer, Bristol Myers Squibb; and STAR, Wendy White, board director, CEEK Women’s Health.

In addition to the three headline honorees, 174 Rising Stars and Luminaries were celebrated by their corporate sponsors and the HBA’s United Force for Change community.

Mindful that the world at large and the industry workplace has been forever changed after the last 24 months, the HBA leveraged this annual event to recognize how industry champions have demonstrated the acumen, attributes, and values that are critical, timely, and relevant to successfully lead the greater healthcare and life sciences communities. These “New Era Leaders” have defined for the future how business leaders lead, how organizations operate, and how industries innovate.

The HBA’s New Era of Leadership inspirational video and select snippets recorded from the event’s livestream are available on HBA’s You Tube channel, and information about this year’s honorees can be found on HBA’s website.
