The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Board of Directors announced the appointment of Susan O’Connor as Chief Executive Officer of the global not-for-profit association, ushering in a new chapter in the HBA’s mission of advancing women in healthcare.

Celebrated virtually this year, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’s (HBA) Woman of the Year event was able to welcome an infinite amount of ticket holders to the industry awards gala. And more than 7,000 registrants from 21 countries took advantage of the opportunity making this celebration a milestone – the largest ever for the annual event.

The HBA’s Tomorrow’s Executives affinity group, with the support of Bristol Myers Squibb, offers this four-part series to connect you with future and current leaders of top biopharmaceutical companies. These webinars (scheduled from September 9 through October 16, 2020) will highlight the achievements of the next generation across the industry and underscore the importance of their contributions to their organization, and beyond. Join us as we explore: social intrapreneurship, diversity in clinical trials, COVID-19 responses, and how young professionals are impacting the future of work.

Join the HBA for a special virtual discussion led by Dr. Zeev Neuwirth, MD, as he addresses how the COVID-19 pandemic has served as a catalyst for re-framing healthcare.

As today’s leaders work together on initiatives for equal pay, conquering unconscious bias and closing the gender gap, tomorrow’s leaders need to prepare for what comes next. This series, presented by the HBA’s affinity group Tomorrow’s Executives, seeks to provide tools and tactics for young professionals to grow as leaders and get ahead in incorporating gender parity into their everyday work culture.

The HBA’s 28th annual Woman of the Year luncheon was held on May 11th at the New York Hilton Midtown.

The disparity between the large number of women working in healthcare and holding responsibilities over health and wellness decisions compared to the small number of women in leadership roles in healthcare businesses must be remedied.
