Pregnant women vaccinated against Covid-19 could pass along protection to their babies, according to a new study in Israel.

The United States administered 107,060,274 doses of Covid-19 vaccines in the country and distributed 135,847,835 doses as of March 14, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE said on March 10 that real-world data from Israel suggests their Covid-19 vaccine is 94 percent effective in preventing asymptomatic infections, meaning it could significantly reduce transmission.

Alaska became the first U.S. state to make Covid-19 vaccines available to anyone age 16 years or older, eliminating eligibility requirements for people who work or live in the state.

BioNTech SE could have capacity to make 3 billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine the company developed with partner Pfizer Inc. during 2022, Bloomberg News reported on March 9, citing an interview with the German company’s chief executive officer.

The White House said on March 9 that the government will distribute around 18.5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines this week, fewer than last week because no new doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine are ready to be sent out.

The Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE was able to neutralize a new variant of the coronavirus spreading rapidly in Brazil, according to a laboratory study published in the New England Journal of Medicine on March 8.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on March 8 that individuals inoculated against Covid-19 can meet in small groups with other vaccinated people without masks, but that they should keep wearing them outside the home.

The United States identified three online publications directed by Russia’s intelligence services that it says are seeking to undermine Covid-19 vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna, a State Department spokeswoman said.

The United States had administered 87,912,323 doses of Covid-19 vaccines as of early March 6 and delivered 116,355,405 doses, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
