Discovery Worldwide has appointed Rico Ricketson as head of client services. Executives say Ricketson is charged with developing and leading client services teams that consult with healthcare brands to build commercial solutions that represent the voice of the customer, with the primary goal of offering “innovative solutions making client brands indispensable to their target audience(s)”. Ricketson reports directly to Donald Young, Discovery’s Group managing director.

Ricketson comes to Discovery with 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, across pharmaceutical sales, marketing, advertising, and consulting. According to executives, his proven method for applying the latest trends in innovation to healthcare was born out of his experience creating and leading the healthcare vertical of a digital agency, where he grew the healthcare practice from zero to more than 100 clients. In his most recent position at Accenture, Ricketson spearheaded the successful digital transformation of a country affiliate of a global pharmaceutical company.

Ricketson also spent more than 10 years at the healthcare advertising agencies of Omnicom (Cline Davis & Mann) and Interpublic Group’s FCB Health, where he built extensive experience across traditional and digital marketing for over 30 brands.

“Rico has a strong background, with a deep understanding of marketing in the healthcare industry and an impressive track record of outcomes for brands and patients,” Young says. “Discovery is dedicated to being at the forefront of delivering experiences that tie to the voice of the customer. I am confident that Rico will elevate our client services team by delivering solutions that transform our clients into leaders by helping them o er innovative solutions.”
