USA TODAY Veteran Joins Nation’s #1 Health Website

SAN FRANCISCOMarch 10, 2020 Healthline Media, the world’s number one digital health information property with more than 250 million monthly visitors, has appointed Matthew Urbanos as Vice President of Brand, a new position in the company reporting to Senior Vice President of Marketing Tracy Rosecrans.

In his new role, Urbanos is tasked with making Healthline Media’s brands a household name, bringing the words behind Healthline Media’s vision and mission to life, demonstrating Healthline’s values in action through programs, partnerships, and campaigns. Among other priorities, he will build an internal creative agency tasked with creative storytelling. “Healthline Media continues to achieve record audience growth and profitability, and our flagship site Healthline.com just becoming the #1 health site in America,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing Tracy Rosecrans. “In order for us to continue to expand our impact on our vision to make the world stronger and healthier, we need to improve our brand awareness, and Matt is the right lead.

“Matt Urbanos is a brand steward and creative storyteller with an entrepreneurial spirit,” Rosecrans said.

With over 20 years of experience, Urbanos brings ideas to life that are strategically focused, based on consumer research, and beautifully executed. He led the rebranding of USA TODAY, including multiple sports and lifestyle brands and 100 local media brands, as Vice President of Brand and Creative at Gannett for more than six years. There he collaborated with more than 20,000 employees and external partners to  increase customer acquisitions, content consumption, and brand awareness. Prior, Urbanos was creative and brand consultant for three years serving such companies as Barnes & Noble and Shutterstock. He was creative director for Scholastic for two years, and held creative, design and art direction roles at agencies for several years before that. Urbanos also owns and runs a restaurant in Brooklyn with his family. He resides in New York and will be based at HLM’s office in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

Urbanos is the third vice president to join Healthline Media in six months as the company shores up its management ranks. In August, Laurie Dewan and Steve Swasey joined to lead Consumer Insights and Corporate Communications, respectively. Those two positions also were firsts for the company.
