Klick attracts leading healthcare marketing professionals with its consistent growth, unique industry approach, and commitment to the ‘relentless pursuit of awesome’

TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Klick Health today put an end to industry rumors and speculation that it has hired three very senior-level healthcare marketing executives, including the longtime global CEO of a large network agency.

Klick Co-founder and CEO Leerom Segal announced that Doug Burcin has joined Klick as Chief Growth Officer; Leslie Jamison is Klick’s new Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy; and Michael Young is Vice President of Strategy at Klick’s Sensei Labs – further amassing Klick’s branding and commercialization expertise.

“Since our inception, Klick has been devoted to attracting individuals with a unique blend of wisdom, experience, and expertise and we couldn’t be happier to welcome Doug, Leslie, and Michael to our family,” said Segal. “As we continue to grow, we look to bring on more brilliant people to help us expand our offering and provide a client experience that’s extraordinary in every sense. It’s all part of our relentless pursuit of awesome.”

Doug Burcin, Chief Growth Officer
In his newly created role of Chief Growth Officer, Burcin is focused on expanding Klick’s capabilities, engaging with clients across the diverse, new health economy, and uncovering new pathways to dramatic growth in the health, life sciences, and wellness markets. He joins Klick after spending 17 years at Havas Health, the last eight as Global CEO – presiding over the global health network agency’s 60 offices and 2,500 employees worldwide.

Having worked in almost every disease category in medicine, Burcin has a proven track record in building brands of all dimensions and creating new agency models for unified communication services that deliver efficient and measured results for clients. His leadership has been recognized across the industry with accolades that include Medical Advertising News’ Advertising Persons of the Year (2009), Medical Marketing & Media’s Network of the Year, and Adweek’s Healthcare Agency of the Year (both 2010).

“I am excited to be joining Klick’s strategic leadership team at an incredibly exciting time as we evolve and expand our capabilities in ways like no other agency in the world,” Burcin said. “Klick is increasingly transforming the client experience and becoming the ‘Agency of the Future.’ No one is better qualified to disrupt the market than Klick.”

Leslie Jamison, Senior Vice President, Brand Strategy
Jamison brings over 25 years of experience in brand strategy development, and customer insight-driven marketing to Klick and is a passionate business-building executive. Previously, she was Managing Director at in-sync, focused on healthcare, where she delivered year over year growth for over 15 years and helped her team and her clients develop breakthrough brand strategies based on deep understanding of their customers. Jamison expanded the healthcare business globally and led the team to deliver innovative brand strategies across numerous therapeutic areas from product launch through to LOE. She has worked with clients, such as Abbvie, Astra Zeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Genentech, GSK, Lilly, Novartis, and Pfizer.

When asked why she joined Klick, Jamison said she was “drawn to the passion and vision Klick has for shaping the future of health. I also love the fact Klick is an independent agency that has the autonomy to do what’s best for its employees and clients, and to drive innovation in the industry.”

Michael Young, Vice President, Strategy
An accomplished, biopharmaceutical executive with award-winning marketing and global commercial operations credentials, Young was formerly Vice President, Business Development for PAREXEL International, one of the largest clinical development organizations (CDO) in the world. There, he helped lead business expansion at large pharma companies, such as Genentech/Roche, Allergan, Baxter, AMGEN, Pfizer, and emerging biotech and diagnostic companies. Previously, he was Vice President, Alliance Management for PPD, another top-tier, global contract research organization (CRO) and has held senior marketing and management roles at biotech start-up Ligand Pharmaceuticals (where he oversaw the development, registration, and launch of five novel cancer drugs), as well as Eisai, GSK, Adria Laboratories, and Bayer. He has been named Medical Marketer of the Year by the Medical Marketing Association and served as President of the national organization.

“I find Klick’s ongoing growth potential, its unique and energizing culture, and its unique approach to commercialization tremendously attractive,” said Young. “Klick is a organization in which an experienced biopharma professional can help catalyze more patient-centric initiatives and create new revenue-generating programs faster and more effectively than within traditional biotech and pharma environments.”
