Klick’s holiday video puts Christmas spin on agency launches with ‘Klickmas’

,

It’s “the most wonderful time of the year,” and along with twinkling lights, TV Christmas specials, crowded malls, and Whamageddon, it’s time for the healthcare ad agency Klick to launch its annual holiday video. The agency, known for its lavish and intensive productions, trumpets the launch of a new agency: Klickmas, the place where Christmas is 365 days a year.

The video features agency offices festooned in the jazziest of tinsel-bedecked, lit-up decorations and employees dressed as elves, carolers, or in traditional ugly Christmas sweaters and a plethora of festive hats. There is “Turkey Tuesday” instead of “Taco Tuesday,” there are drifts of snow in the hallways and meeting rooms,  the “Christmas cannon” that instantly clothes an employee in a Christmas parka, glitter, and ornaments, and off-tune renditions of the “12 Days of Christmas” in the elevators. Even CEO and President Leerom Segal gets into the spirit, ripping off his conservative jacket, shirt, and tie to reveal the spectacularly ugly Christmas suit beneath.

Klickmas, according to agency executives, “follows in the frosty footsteps of tinsel towns, such as North Pole, Alaska; Santa Claus, Indiana; and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which are known for spreading joy and the festive spirit throughout the year.”

“We are thrilled to establish the world’s first all-Christmas, all-the-time lifestyle agency,” Segal says. “At Klickmas, we believe that by putting Christmas culture at the heart of everything we do and infusing as much holiday cheer as we can into everything we do, we will have the happiest-possible Klicksters and clients – and as they say, the more the merrier.”

But the jokes and tomfoolery have the true spirit of the holidays at heart: For each video “like”, the company will donate a $1 (up to $10,000) to Mélanie’s Way, a wish-granting charity for young women with metastatic or relapsed cancer, to help send a 40-year-old stage 4 cancer patient, Kate, and her family to a Disney resort. A former Disney on Ice skater with three children under the age of 10 and a YouTube video series called “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting Cancer,” Kate says she wants to take her family on a trip to Aulani, a Disney Resort, “to take photos together so the kids can look back and remember the special trip we shared in Hawaii.”

Mélanie’s Way gives young women with metastatic or relapsed cancer the ability to create a special experience that will bring them and their loved ones joy and create lasting memories. The volunteer-run charity was created in loving memory of Mélanie Chalmers, who travelled the world and squeezed the most out of her life before passing in 2015 at the age of 39.

Last year, Klick’s viral “You Make Winter Warm” holiday video achieved nearly 3 million views and raised funds to buy new winter coats for children living below the poverty line. Over the years, Klick’s holiday videos have been featured on CBS News, CNN, Comedy Central, Entertainment Tonight, and in many other media outlets around the world.

“Klick is committed to making a difference in the lives of others through conscious acts of giving,” executives say. “Throughout the year, it supports a wide range of charities around the world, including the Daily Bread Food Bank, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kiva Microfunds, Plan International, SickKids, The Shoebox Project for Shelters, Stupid Cancer, and WE Charity.”
