CDM Princeton EVP, Executive Creative Director Gary Scheiner has had a pretty fulfilling career so far. His first commercial ran during the Super Bowl. He launched several new car brands for GM, a wine brand for Kraft, and The Michael J. Fox Foundation hand-in-hand with Michael J. Fox. He’s worked with A-list celebrities, Grammy-winning musicians and Academy Award-winning directors. He even recorded a Beatles song in Abbey Road Studios, using the same Hammond B3 organ that Paul McCartney played on the original track. But of all the amazing things he’s been a part of, he’s most excited about where he is right now – in healthcare, with all its innovation and game-changing, life-changing products and services.

Judging Process
Each year, Med Ad News Manny Awards categories are judged exclusively by the managing executives(s) and head creative director(s) from each participating healthcare communications agency. Independent to the creative judging of the awards program, Med Ad News editors vote on the Agency of the Year, Network of the Year and several additional category awards.
More than 200 agency executives are eligible to review and vote. The judging process commences in late February. At this time, Med Ad News posts category submissions and samples from all of healthcare communications agencies on a specially created Judging Website. Judges will individually review and vote on these submissions via our online judging website. All individual votes remain confidential.
In addition, voters are invited to submit nominations for Industry Person of the Year and Best Launch Campaign of the Year.
A second level of voting is conducted by a carefully vetted jury of industry experts. Finalists in each category, determined by the initial online voting process, will be reviewed in detail by our judging panel. Each finalist campaign will be assigned a “MedAdvocate”, an unbiased representative asked to present the outstanding components of that finalist campaign and to inspire a dialogue surrounding that submission.
This process will be repeated for each category finalist, for each creative category. Following the panel’s discussion, our Jury will be asked to cast their blind ballots for our winning campaign.
Industry Person of the Year and Best Launch Campaign of the Year are reviewed and determined by Med Ad News staff based on agency nominations. Remaining categories, including Agency of the Year winners and finalists in Category I, II, III and the Heart Award and Innovation Award are decided by Med Ad News staff based on profile submissions and subsequent research and review.
Each Manny Awards category has one winner and it is revealed in the Med Ad News April issue and at the Med Ad News Manny Awards ceremony in New York City.
If you would like to be included as a judge:
Submit the name, job title, and e-mail address of the agency representatives whom will be judging to [email protected]. Eligible judges include: managing executives(s) and head creative director(s) from each participating healthcare communications agency.
