Maricich Health had an excellent year in 2016. Not only did the agency change its name as a simpler complement to the work the agency is producing for a variety of healthcare organizations and companies, but it launched several high-profile campaigns reaching polycultural healthcare audiences. Many of these audiences, specifically those households participating in multiple cultural experiences within and outside of their own heritage, are also in underserved groups that do not have access to high-quality care. “As an agency, we are doing our part to help educate these audiences, even in the times of uncertainty,” says Mark Maricich, CEO. “The biggest trend we’ve seen in 2016 is the greater understanding of how health care goes beyond “health”, also incorporating a broader understanding of how social determinants affect the health of individuals and ultimately the health of communities at large.”

The Year’s Accomplishments

Seeing the results of the client work has always been the biggest accomplishment of each year in the minds of Maricich Health’s leadership. In 2016, this work included the continued evolution of the “Healthy Driven” campaign for Edward-Elmhurst Health in Chicago, a highly-successful open-enrollment campaign for L.A. Care Health Plan,  and completed production of the new “Go Public!” campaign recently launched for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in the first quarter of 2017. Agency leaders say industry notice of these campaigns has brought calls and consideration for new client opportunities. “In the midst of all this activity, our creative and account teams are working extremely well together and are exceeding the expectations of our clients,” says David Maricich, President and COO. “Everyone in the agency is happy, our clients are happy, and we’re having a great time.”

Structures & Services

Maricich Health’s primary focus is on brand development for organizations and companies within the integrated healthcare ecosystem. This includes health systems, payers, and companies with products and services targeting HCPs, such as medical device and pharma. During 2016, the greater majority of Maricich clients have been consumer-focused, however a number of business-to-business initiatives are in cue for 2017.

The agency offers a range of services for healthcare marketers, from brand strategy to creative development and tactical execution. Maricich Health also offers in-house capabilities for media, public relations, digital marketing, content development and social media.

Future Plans

“We are planning for agency growth in 2017 and continued positive marketing and business outcomes for our clients,” Mark Maricich says. “Much of this is centered on communicating our clients’ shared commitment and courageous, undeterred purpose of ensuring high-quality healthcare is accessible to all people, and especially those who need it most.” The agency has also recently launched a proprietary, evidence-based, total campaign performance dashboard system, called “Skylight.”

Philanthropy/Citizenship

Maricich is an active supporter of nonprofits such as a foundation that helps the poor in Chimbote, Peru get medical care and other basic support to rise out of poverty. The agency donates a percentage of its profits every year to help the less fortunate.
