Harrison and Star has appointed Adam Hessel as executive VP, executive creative director, with the charge of building the agency into an industry-leading creative powerhouse.

“We’ve always been known for high-science strategy and top-tier client service,” says Mario Muredda, CEO of Harrison and Star. “While H&S has a solid creative track record, our industry is heading in a new direction. Groundbreaking creative has become the price of entry to compete with the best agencies in the healthcare space.

“Adam is an award-winning and proven creative leader with experience across consumer and health industries. He pushes every creative boundary set in front of him, and I am 100 percent confident that under his direction, you will see Harrison and Star at the epicenter of the creative explosion that’s happening in healthcare right now.”

So far, Hessel has already successfully rebranded Harrison and Star to reflect the new creative vision for the agency. As executive creative director, he is responsible for elevating the creative profile of an impressive portfolio of some of the healthcare industry’s most desirable clients and top brands.

“There are a lot of great things happening at Harrison and Star and the healthcare industry overall,” Hessel says. “I see my role as simply building on the best of what’s already here and capitalizing on every creative opportunity – not only to help build our clients’ brands, but to bring positive change to the lives of patients.”

Hessel spent the last four years working within healthcare, where he was instrumental in helping to put GSW-NY on the creative map. Prior to that he spent over 20 years in general advertising, collecting awards at Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, The Clios, ANDY Awards, Radio Mercury Awards, LIA and Lürzer’s Archive.

“I’m proud of all that, but honestly, my best work is yet to come,” Hessel says.
