NEW JERSEY ICE CREAM SHOP TO DONATE EVERY PENNY OF CONES SOLD ON AUGUST 26 TO HELP ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE CO-FOUNDER PAT QUINN

Quinn to make special appearance at community-focussed shop as it aims to empty every ice cream bucket in its freezers through #IceCreamBucketChallenge

WHAT:

Seven Scoops ice cream shop is donating every penny of its ice cream sales on Monday to support ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Co-Founder Pat Quinn.

WHY:

To commemorate the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and continue the fight against ALS, the goal of the fundraiser is to empty every single ice cream bucket in the shop by the end of the day and show Pat how much people care about him and finding a cure for ALS.

According to Seven Scoops co-owner Ryan Olohan, “What makes Pat so impressive is that he personally raised over $200M to fight this dreadful disease. What makes him heroic is that he inspires millions of people because he refuses to give up the fight for every person and family battling ALS. Pat has given us so much and now it’s our turn to give back to Pat to help with his 24-hour care.”

Ryan is also the Managing Director of Healthcare at Google where he became friends with Pat through their mutual work in the health industry.

WHO:

Anne and Ryan Olohan are the owners of Seven Scoops, which has been a dream project for them for many years. Named after their seven young children, the Olohan’s have long felt the community needed a place where everyone, regardless of their walk of life or financial situation, could feel welcome – and where they could give back in a fun and easy way.

With cones priced as low $1.07, the shop also sells handmade bracelets from Kenya, the proceeds of which go back to support the local villages. Their coffee and chocolates support women-owned farms in Ecuador.

Seven Scoops also directs a large portion of its proceeds to a variety of worthy causes, both locally and abroad. Recently, it made several large donations to local sports programs and Harlem Grown, the New York-based organization, which helps children in need.
