Pharmaceutics International Inc. named Kurt R. Nielsen, Ph.D., to the position of president and CEO. Dr. Nielsen is a seasoned pharma executive with more than 20 years of diverse experience, most recently as president of Lupin Somerset, responsible for all of that company’s generic and branded products. Pharmaceutics International is a privately held contract development and manufacturing organization providing dosage form development and cGMP manufacturing services to the global pharma industry.

Joshua Schultz was tapped as CEO by Cytel Inc., effective Jan. 7th, 2019. Schultz succeeds Joseph Avellone, who acted as Cytel’s interim CEO from March 2018 and will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors. Cytel is a global provider of advanced analytical solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries.

Paul Colvin is now president, Clinical Solutions, at Syneos Health. Colvin joins Syneos Health from Pharmaceutical Product Development LLC. Syneos Health is the only fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization, and includes a contract research organization and contract commercial organization.

Natera Inc. appointed Steve Chapman as chief executive officer and Robert Schueren as chief operating officer. Previously, Chapman was the company’s COO and succeeds Matthew Rabinowitz, Ph.D., Natera co-founder and CEO. According to management, Dr. Rabinowitz remains integrally involved as executive chairman focusing on the company’s long-term business strategy and technology innovation. Natera is a leader in non-invasive genetic testing and the analysis of cell-free DNA.

Outcome Health named John Vaughan as chief compliance officer. According to management, Vaughan’s appointment to the executive leadership team further underscores Outcome Health’s continuing commitment to increase transparency and bring more rigor to the healthcare innovation company’s data measurement and reporting. Outcome Health is focused on evolving the point of care experience for patients and physicians.

Cornerstone Search Group named Brian Skurka as a partner. Cornerstone Search Group is a global, premier life sciences executive search firm with headquarters located in Parsippany, New Jersey.

James Cheong has been named to the role of chief operating officer of George Clinical. Cheong served as head, Clinical Operations for the Chinese Market for Boehringer Ingelheim. George Clinical is a leading independent Asia-Pacific and U.S.-based clinical research organization.

VMS BioMarketing has appointed Karen M. Josey to the position of VP, Business Development. Most recently, Josey worked in the CRO industry at companies providing clinical trial services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies.
