Last year, Integra LifeSciences, a leader in neurosurgical technology, made exceptional strides in growing its industry-leading portfolio of medical devices by purchasing Johnson & Johnson’s Codman Neurosurgery business. “When Integra made that purchase, they became one of the leading global providers of neurosurgical products,” says Jonathan Male, REALITYRx principal and creative director.

REALITYRx partnered with the marketing team at Integra to create a fresh presence with an eye-catching concept that informed medical professionals that Integra and Codman had their surgical device needs covered, executives say. An all-encompassing, franchise directive was planned, positioning Integra as having the most comprehensive line of neurosurgical products, offering the most advanced line of specialty surgical devices. Additionally, REALITYRx earlier in the year worked with the Integra to successful launch CUSA Clarity, an advanced ultrasonic aspirator system – further diversifying its neurosurgical offering.

“We were thrilled for our clients at Integra and excited for the opportunity to give them a presence worthy of their global-provider status,” says Diane Snelson, senior VP and account supervisor.

With the acquisition of Derma Sciences, A Tissue Regeneration Company, Integra became a major force in advanced wound care. Again, REALITYRx was tasked with positioning and launching this new, expanded franchise. As part of this initiative, the agency worked with Integra to re-launch Omnigraft Dermal Regeneration Matrix for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, executives say.

“We needed to build awareness for Omnigraft in the diabetic foot-ulcer outpatient community,” Male says. “With a dynamic hard-hitting image and message ‘Defuse DFUs fast,’ we can focus on expanding our foothold in this market.”

REALITYRx launched several new campaigns in 2017, continuing to build upon the success of 2016.

Catalyst Pharmaceuticals tapped into REALITYRx’s strategic prowess as the company searched for a new, patient-centric message and fresh look for its corporate website. “Working with our digital network partner Iperdesign, we created a fully responsive, mobile-friendly, eye-catching site,” agency managers say. “The Catalyst story was sharpened, demonstrating their commitment to the rare-disease community, and cutting-edge research.”

“The transformation was simply incredible,” says Robert Karczewski, REALITYRx principal and director of client services. “The good folks at Catalyst Pharmaceuticals trusted us to know the market, redesign and refocus their story and couldn’t be happier with the results.”

REALITYRx continued improving on its outstanding work for Impax Laboratories’ Epinephrine Auto-Injector – indicated by the generic brand’s steady market growth (with about a 30 percent market share). The past year saw a push beyond its initial messaging to healthcare providers and a stronger push toward consumers with new and engaging materials. Content included a caring, step-by-step how-to use your device video, produced by REALITYRx, as well as, a strong social media push, along with an ongoing blog series, Facebook engagement, and other tactics.

“The campaign has been a great success by every measure,” Karczewski says. “Now, we’re engaging patients with new content that sparks conversation and fosters a sense of community for those who suffer from severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis. We’re thrilled to expand upon our partnership with Impax and build on this incredibly poignant campaign. We’re going to continue to provide that sense of community and keep the public aware of an affordable epinephrine auto-injector option for their severe allergy needs.”

REALITYRx is a global healthcare agency with offices and partners in the New York metro area, Philadelphia, and Rome, Italy. The agency prides itself on its senior healthcare marketing experience, as well as its strategic understanding of global markets and the ability to provide cutting-edge digital solutions. “This past year, the team’s success was highlighted by the launch of Omnigraft in the outpatient community, and relaunch of Catalyst’s corporate website,” execs say. “With more launches scheduled in 2018, the team feels another strong year is on the horizon.”

“Our talent pool continues to grow with new creatives joining the team, and our partnership with the public relations agency, JFK Communications, continues to expand our services.” Karczewski says.

“We feel great about where we’re going, and how we’re evolving our client’s business,” says Flint Cohen, creative director. “We’re constantly evaluating ways to get better, learn more, and see how our strategic knowledge can benefit our clients.”

Agency leaders claim that having senior talent, ahead of the learning curve, actually working on business is what makes REALITYRx nimble and especially efficient. “Senior talent that’s ready to get off the bench and dig into the work – it’s what separates us.” Male says. “There’s no time wasted. Everyone on the team is able to contribute and really focus on our client needs.”

Agency leaders say a team as nimble and adept as REALITYRx continues to attract new business and grow existing business by cultivating relationships with expert consultants. “Thanks to our strong business relationships and networking capabilities, we can work on just about any therapeutic category – ready for any opportunity.” Karczewski says.

REALITYRx plans to continue its upward trajectory from 2017 by expanding its social media capabilities and digital offerings through a broadened media presence, website redesign, and expansive new blog series, agency leaders say. The agency plans to focus on the ever-growing needs of its client’s business, while pursuing new business to expand its clientele. “We look forward to continuing to improve our client’s business, as well as partnering with new and savvy marketers in our industry who believe we can support their goals – no matter how big those goals may be,” Male says.

REALITYRx takes pride in its corporate culture, one that emphasizes community engagement and philanthropy, executives say. The agency consulted for the Chester Public Library in New Jersey and updated its logo as well as marketing materials to further increase community outreach. REALITYRx participated in the development of Catalyst Pharmaceuticals’ rare disease outreach program. Social media pages were created to engage with patients and foster conversation about various rare disease states, agency executives say.
