The British biopharma company reported 10% sales growth in the third quarter, driven mainly by robust sales of its respiratory syncytial virus shot Arexvy and shingles vaccine Shingrix.

Exclusive rights to the therapy will fuel the expansion of GSK’s own hepatitis B treatment, bepirovirsen, which is currently in late-stage development, the company said.

Pfizer , which dominated COVID vaccine sales, now finds itself looking up at GSK , whose rival new respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine has surged to an early lead since the shots launched this summer.

The company stated that its cancer drug Jemperli when combined with chemotherapy, met the primary goal of overall survival in patients with advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer in a late-stage trial.

The British drugmaker’s shot, called Arexvy, met the primary goal in the Phase-III trial of eliciting an immune response in adults of the reported age group who are at an increased risk of catching the virus due to certain underlying medical conditions, the company said.

The company said it agreed to settle another lawsuit in California alleging its discontinued heartburn drug Zantac caused cancer, as the British drugmaker sought to end costly litigation that has weighed on shares.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to recede, the top pharma companies intensified their focus into areas such as cancer and metabolic diseases to build up their pipelines, and their growth prospects, for the future.

Last year GSK made a strategic move to focus solely on biopharma, and it is already realizing the benefits of a more targeted business.

China’s largest vaccines company Zhifei will pay British drugmaker GSK 2.5 billion pounds ($3.05 billion pound) for the exclusive rights to distribute GSK’s shingles vaccine in the world’s No. 2 pharmaceuticals market.

British drugmaker GSK on Friday said it raised 885.6 million pounds ($1.08 billion) from a discounted stake sale in Haleon, cutting its shareholding to 7.4% in the world’s largest standalone consumer healthcare firm.
