This year’s event heads to Chicago for engaging conversations and networking from November 6-8, 2023.

“It is about breaking through the glass ceiling. It is about leading with heart, grace, and integrity,” said Beth Seidenberg, M.D., founding managing director of Westlake Village BioPartners, and the 2022 HBA Woman of the Year. “It is about taking individual responsibility championing other women and driving change.”

Earlier this week the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) held its annual Woman of the Year event. The recipient of this year’s Strategic Transformation Achievement Recognition (STAR) volunteer honors went to Liz Paulson, associate VP, Life Sciences for the Healthcare Business of LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Ahead of the event, Paulson shared her perspectives on the transformation of the HBA, initiatives in improving patient access to health care, and mentoring women during their career journey.

With less than two months under her belt as the CEO of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), Mary Stutts is enthusiastic about diving into her new role and is bringing extensive experience in the healthcare space to the organization.

Kite’s Christi Shaw, AbbVie’s Jag Dosanjh, and LexisNexis Risk Solution’s Liz Paulson earn top industry honors.

With reproductive rights under attack and professional and personal challenges escalated as a result of the pandemic, women have been collectively called on to lead with not just authenticity, but also with compassion, kindness, and empathy. “In times of crisis, women take center stage. We are the peace makers, the solution seekers, the voice amplifiers,” said HBA interim CEO Wendy White at the 2022 HBA Annual Conference.

Mindful that the world at large and the industry workplace has been forever changed after the last 24 months, the HBA leveraged this annual event to recognize how industry champions have demonstrated the acumen, attributes, and values that are critical, timely, and relevant to successfully lead the greater healthcare and life sciences communities.
