A group of major pharmaceutical companies want an appeals court to force Connecticut and other states to remain in a coordinated legal proceeding over generic drug pricing, arguing that allowing them to pursue their claims separately would upend years of legal work and cause delays.

The commission fined companies for participating in a cartel aimed at fixing the minimum price of an ingredient to produce the abdominal antispasmodic drug Buscopan and its generic versions.

Teva Pharmaceuticals on Monday announced that it reached a deferred prosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice over its drug price-fixing case involving generic drugs.

The company said in a regulatory filing that it expects to pay $141 million to settle the class action lawsuit accusing it of attributing price increases to nonexistent supply disruptions, rather than anticompetitive conduct by pharmaceutical companies.
