Today the company raised its full-year profit outlook after strong demand for blockbuster asthma drug Dupixent and better-than-expected sales of new launches helped its second-quarter results beat estimates.

The drug, called depemokimab, showed “significant and meaningful reductions” in asthma attacks for patients with eosinophilic asthma, the company stated.

J&J looks to gain access to the privately held company’s experimental atopic dermatitis treatments.

“The APAC region reports the most asthma-related deaths. This underscores the urgent need for effective treatments and management strategies tailored to the unique challenges faced in the region. Addressing these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach, including enhanced patient education, early diagnosis, improved treatment accessibility, and adherence to therapies,” states GlobalData Analyst Sravani Meka.

The company stated it would cap out-of-pocket costs for its inhaled respiratory products at $35 per month in the United States, following a similar move by rival Boehringer Ingelheim earlier in the month.
